Habitat for Humanity

The RJA/Atlanta office lent their support to the Atlanta Habitat for Humanity; a service that partners with working families, sponsors, and communities to build affordable, green, quality homes for families who might not otherwise be able to afford a house. The efforts provided by Team Atlanta and other volunteers helped save the future homeowner and her baby daughter over $7,000 in labor costs.
Bob Barnes, a Senior Consultant in the RJA/Chicago office took a trip to LaFayette, IN with the Gary Methodist Church Work Group to do a Habitat for Humanity build the week of July 6. His group raised and installed the roof, installed doors, windows, siding and the interior build-out on one house for a mother and 5 children. They also completely caulked and painted a 2-strory Habitat house in a historic district in LaFayette, and helped rebuild and add to a house north of LaFayette that was severely damaged in the summer 2008 flooding caused by torrential rainfall.
Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization whose goal is to end homelessness around the world. Through volunteers and donations of money and materials, Habitat for Humanity has built over 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter.
