WPI Conducts Survey Under Grant from NFPA
Posted Mon February 13, 2012Worcester Polytechnic Institute is conducting a short survey regarding occupancy density under the National Fire Protection Association. Architects are asked to answer 1 short question and have the opportunity to give further feedback in the following survey. The survey should take less than 5 minutes.
A note from the WPI/NFPA team:
In terms of background, building and fire regulations specify occupant load densities that designers and building owners are to comply with. The current occupant densities, or what are commonly referred to as load factors, have essentially remained unchanged for decades. Questions have arisen concerning the appropriateness of these occupant load factors for contemporary types of office operations.
The questionnaire will be open until February 21st.
By completing this questionnaire you can greatly help us better understand occupant loading in office environments. Ultimately, this knowledge could lead to changes in current code limits on the numbers of occupants in these spaces.
Thank you in advance for your time.
