Educational facilities are always in a state of physical transformation; building safety plans need to be updated as new buildings are being constructed while older structures undergo remodeling and retrofitting. The fire and security challenge is one of integration and varies based on the type of occupancy of each building. Dormitory fire protection will differ from laboratory fire protection and so on.
